Week 22a Living my DMP

This past week I did not get to write about my week because I was living it. I was busy bringing another part of my DMP to life.

I have been able to work on myself and my business so that I was able to travel and explore the sites of the Big Island of Hawaii. I swam with Dolphins, sea turtles and did stand up paddle board ( thank you Davene for teaching me  last year).

All the weeks of this class has brought me such peace and openness that every moment was amazing in Hawaii. I know this is just the beginning and a wonderful life awaits.

Week 22 The old vs. The new

What a crazy week. New staff, new clients, new responsibilities, long time clients, everyday responsibilities. Up until this passed week, I read, I read, I read, I blogged, I have done a fairly good job keeping up with the requirements, working on the makeover.

This last week not so much, don’t even know why, no excuse, no reason. I wasn’t too busy or anything. Is this the old blueprint trying to creep back in? Am I trying to go back to comfort zone? Let’s be real, how could I be comfortable with the old if I am trying to change my direction? I wonder what it is. I am not to stressed over it. It is what it is and it’s all good.

I look forward to my 2 days of silence to reflect on this and whatever else may come to mind. I am excited to see if I can relax and be. I am excited to see what the last 21 weeks does to my thoughts and silence.

Week 21 The Secret of Power and the Answer to Success

Here we are at week 21 in this awesome journey to our perfect selves. We keep reading, learning, questioning trying to find the answers. There is lots of soul searching, deep thought, excuses, blame, strong beliefs on everyone’s part.

As I read this weeks lesson, I found that I highlighted most of the paragraphs. It all makes so much sense and so easy to see, the answers are there all along. You already have them all.

When I first started my business I thought I had all the answers, how could I not be a success and make tons of money? I did everything different then everyone else and no one was going to tell me what or how to do it. Well… I made it for many years not really thriving but surviving, wondering why not everyone else thought the way I did and wanted to be more. There had to be an answer, the secret to being the success I wanted, others are doing it why not me, what do they know that I do not.  I searched and searched and searched and search some more, every book, every class, every coach. Guess what? They all said the same thing, how could it be? It didn’t even matter if it was the same business. The same thing, same thing, same thing. This is stupid, I have heard this all thousands of times, I know all this stuff. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks I actually had to do the stuff I have learned, I needed to put it to practice, I had to believe it deep down in my core, I had to take action. Only then would it work, then once it started to work I needed to change the culture in my business to reflect it.  There is much truth to ” Your Vibe attracts your  Tribe”.

Thoughts, beliefs, and action are the secret and the answer to all. You have it within you. If you don’t like your situation, think about what you want different, believe you can have it and take action towards it.

Week 20 Recognizing your Power

This week I have have really thought about the “power” in so many different aspects of thought, mind, spirit. I have watched and spoke to many people who do not realize their power this week. Maybe I am just more aware of this because of my own power.

As I interview new team members I see who the power of your thoughts are so important and guiding to your every day life. There were people who didn’t realize how their negative thoughts have power over their ability to succeed and reach goals and how only the power of their thoughts can change that. Some applicants had so much positive power, I honestly wasn’t sure they were for real and contemplated that they were just telling me what I wanted to hear. After listening, and asking questions like we learned, I believe they were coming from a place of deep thought and self reflection.

I also had the wonderful opportunity to personally meet and spend time with a fellow MKMMA member from out of town. The power and courage that she and her daughter have is amazing. We spent time talking about courage and power and how those 2 things are in almost everything. The food we were eating to the people cooking and serving it. The meeting and conversation were powerful and courageous in itself.

It is so powerful to think that the power of thinking is to use your thinking to harness  your power.

Week 19 Overcome the Fear

What a week this has been. After 19 weeks I am amazed how life seems to be in line with what we are leaning. As I strive to be dedicated to my PPNs and helping others in life and business there are always the moments that make you want to throw in the towel and say screw everyone else. I had one of those moments, the beauty is they are short lived and getting shorter all the time.

After dedicating over a year to help an employee grow, sending her to training, investing in her, she gave me notice she was leaving to go work for someone else. Ironically this is the same person I referred to last week about knowing it all but not putting it to work. I could feel my face get hot and red, my heart race, I told her ” Great, good luck” with such shortness she knew I did not mean it. She said well at least you didn’t tell me to “F” off, to which I replied “not to your face”. She left my office and there it was FEAR, what was I going to do, what about the clients, what about me, what about everything I did for you? I call my husband and my coach in a panic, what will happen, I should just close, how can I make it, how will want to work for me? Ok step back, take a breath, helping others is what you want, growing people is what you want, teaching people is what you want. She is doing what you are wanting, is it good for all????? not in the moment!! does it take anyone else’s good??? Yeah MINE!!!

The day, I sweet lady applies for the same position, with many years experience ready to work any days and hours. 2 days after that another girl who has wanted to work for me for years is ready to start working for me in a few weeks. Wait, what, 2 more people want to work for me in another department, with drive, ambition, ready to work whenever I need. They all have heard that although I can be tough, I am caring and want to strive for more and to build people up.

I did wind up telling the girl leaving that I wasn’t mad and I do wish her luck with her new job and I do actually mean it. We bought her a cake and celebrated. I do really mean it too. When I step back and really put all this stuff we are learning to work and practice I know that it was GOOD all along for all of us.  It was good for my business, my staff, all the new people wanting to work for me.

I know that all that I am working on in this class has changed me, my mindset, my business, my team our culture and it is amazing. I know that everything is as it should be. FEAR is overcome with the consciousness of power. I have got the Power.

I am Whole Perfect Strong Powerful Loving Harmonious and Happy!!!

Week 18 The power for Growth

The last 18 weeks we have read, re read, studied and evaluate our selves and thought process. I can’t help but reflect on the chapter that talks about having the knowledge versus putting it to practice, and in this weeks chapter about unless we use it we will lose it.

I think about my own thirst for knowledge, and always wanting to take another class and get another certification. I admit, I love looking for the next class and sometimes more than starting to practice and master the thing I just learned. As for my business I was always looking for the “answer” to make it better or to fix a problem, moving to the next Guru or coach to get the “right answer” only to figure out that the I had the answer I just needed to do the work and use what I learned.

This last week, as I had some transition in my business and I listen to my team talking about all these books, webinars, classes are the same, it’s all the same information. We know all this stuff and we are still not hitting the goals. This information is wrong. And it hits me, they are stuck in the knowledge without the action. They are not putting it to work, they are not using the steps and taking action.

The new focus for my team is TAKE ACTION

Week 17 Hero’s Journey

What is a Hero?

  1. 1.
a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.
How interesting, a hero can really be anyone. It can be you. In a world where everyone is looking for a Hero to save them, to change a situation or the world, why not be the Hero. Why not be your own Hero?
This week I had the privilege of attending a live show called ROAR – Fierce Female Storytelling. As I sat there listening to the 5 women and looking around the theater I realized how amazing each and every person is. Everyone is on their own Hero’s journey. These women stood in front of a large crowd bearing their souls and deepest secrets and tragedies and their fight to be true and whole. Facing adversity and doubt from their closest friends and family. The audience each on their own journey and at their own stage of the way, listening for the something they can connect with, for the one line that let’s them know they are ok, things will get better.
I just love the way I see people now, with so much more depth and understanding, listening to what lies beneath the surface. People and life are fascinating, I am glad to be on this wonderful journey and the greatest Hero of my own journey.
Where will your Journey take you?

Week 17 Sharing the love & knowledge

Last week our group works on Kindness, seeing it, sharing it, acknowledging it.  Wow, what an amazing week and it makes one wonder, why don’t we do this all the time? It is so easy to be kind, and it goes such a long way.

I decided as part of my kindness I would share some of the awesome affirmations that we have learned. My salon team already knows “Do It Now” the say it all day long, so this week I decide to write ” I am whole perfect powerful strong loving harmonious and happy” on our break room chalk board. I figure well at least they will see it, maybe think about it, maybe read it a few times, maybe that subby will do its thing and it will start working on their thoughts.

What happens??? This

I almost wanted to cry, through out the week they added more, beautiful positive affirmations. The culture has been changing over the last few months, all the things they teased me about “being positive” are now rubbing off.

I can’t wait to see what happens next…..

Week 16 – Look at your self

This week has been interesting. There have been a few Ah-ha’s the past few days.

My year began with a few bumps, I asked my employees to do the end of year inventory. which of course needed to be complete and correct by year end. 2 people haphazardly miss count the items, they next person needs the day off and my manager comes down with the flu. Guess who goes in on Sunday to get the job done, the owner (ME). Now I could be mad that I will now spend my Sunday working, at the end of 6 hours at work I come home so relieved and happy, I tell I Jason I have finally figured out what the years inventory problem has been and I fixed about $3,000 in inventory. Not mad that I was there, not mad I had to do it, not mad they did it wrong, it was perfect, I figured out the problem, it all worked out, if all that stuff didn’t happen I would not have gotten it done. I cannot help but think that all this work the last 16 weeks has brought me to a place of peace and comfort in knowing that it was all exactly the way it was suppose to be.

As I listen to others speak about situations in their life, I can’t help but refer to week 16 line 31. The evidence is clear, Natural Law! everything works in perfect harmony with your efforts in life. ” Why do things like this always happen to me?” ” I don’t know but things Like this always happen to people like you”  Why focus on the obstacles? Find the small nuggets in everything you do and revel in them. You are doing it, you are learning and growing every minute, every situation. Everyone has the same 24 hours in a day, you can make it the best or you can dwell on the crap.

” You better check yourself before you wreck yourself” ~ Ice Cube

Week 15

The more I listen to people the more interesting people become. The more I wonder about life. Why does this time of year cause so many to dreadful and sad. Why do they just want the year to end and say good ridden? They can wait for the new year to start over, and then come December they repeat the same thought and sayings.

At what point do you realize the the date isn’t going to change you? This is where part 14 #4 hits home, we get results in exact accordance with our understanding of the law and our ability to make the proper application. You have to apply the knowledge and change.

One of my favorite quotes seems appropriate this week:

“Be the change you wish to see” ~Gandhi
